Bobby Bovenzi & Thomas Tumbach are the creators of Nankama World Beat Imports, Lessons & Events. Nankama offers Interactive Rhythm Circle training and performance for schools and the community, West African and Middle Eastern Drum, Dance and Orchestra classes and performances.

Bobby is a member of the Jam Camp Society, HARAMBEE  West African drum and dance troupe and The Barefoot Profits Middle Eastern Orchestra percussion and dance troupe. His collaborations include drumming for Andalusian Stallions, Lead drum for West African, Belly, Hip Hop and Tap dancers, Fire and Glo Poi spinners. Performance with D2D Delhi 2 Dublin Celtic/Indian World Beat artists, Wade Morrisette, Tambura Rasa, Linda Tillery and the Cultural Heritage Choir, Khalid Saleem and Percussion ah Saleem, SUNY Brockport’s Sankofa Afro-Brazilian Troupe, Kpani Addy and Kolomashi Ghanaian drum & dance, Kocasalle Dioubate’, Samite’ Of Uganda, Dj Slo Beck, The William Leggot Jazz Trio and Sidney Rosen.

Thomas Tumbach is the founder of the Jam Camp Society, inspired by his great experiences discovering the wonders of music with friends from many different world music backgrounds.  As a youth, Thomas trained classically on the violin for 10 years, and later began exploring a multitude of string instruments and world traditional styles of music.   Thomas has performed in many different groups internationally & locally, well known for his innovative & virtuosic improvisational style & compositions in both Eastern & Western styles of music.

check out  Jam Camp to see, hear and feel what you or your school will develop over one to two week residency . It’ll open new doors for children wanting to be more involved in creating music, and at the same time provide valuable partnerships with writing, self expression and confidence. Create, perform and record the original  group created songs, as well as traditional rhythms, dances and songs from around the world! 2008 Camps will be held in Vancouver, South Mable Lake, and Penticton BC, as well as Oregon City USA, and are now available as school residencies.
